Live on the Roborock US store (checked 28 August 2026) is $249.99, with $429.99 still showing as the compare at MSRP. Wirecutter was tracking $220 from Roborock with a promo code, and $250 at Amazon. The Plus dock sucks the bin into a 2.7 liter bag that Roborock says lasts about seven weeks. The mop is a drag along pad with three water levels. Leave it in the box if you only want vacuuming.
Suction is 10,000 Pa in Max+, with a carpet boost. Navigation is PreciSense LiDAR, not a camera stack, and the app stores up to four maps. Wirecutter liked that it bumps lightly and then turns, which helped coverage around furniture legs. It is one of the quieter cleaners they tried. The empty cycle is not quiet. Runtime is about 180 minutes on hard floors in Quiet. That is enough for a typical 1,500 square foot home if you are not stuck on Max the whole time. You still pick up cords. You still own a stick vacuum for thick rugs. You do not babysit midweek crumbs.

You are paying for thresholds, mop washing, and hardwood numbers, not for a bot that can ignore a messy floor.

You get 5,300 Pa, LiDAR plus IMU mapping, four floor maps, and a 3 liter bag. Tapo says two months. Wirecutter thinks two months is the honest number, not the three some marketing copy uses. The dock is about three inches taller than the Roborock’s. Suction is roughly half. In Wirecutter’s tests it still pulled deep set dust from carpet within an ounce of the Q7, then lagged on a concentrated Cheerio spill because it cannot match that Max+ pull in one pass.
The mop is the same kind of homework as the Q7: a 300 ml tank you fill, a cloth you wash. Stuff’s 2026 tester liked the vacuuming, called the mop simplistic, and could not get it up a 20 mm bathroom step. TechGearLab flagged obstacle avoidance and pet hair. Quiet mode is 52 dB. Battery is 2,600 mAh, up to three hours, four hours to charge. The Tapo app will do schedules, no go zones, and room cleaning. It is less customizable than Roborock’s. That is the trade for $230 and a dock that empties itself.
